My time on Wikipedia

I created this account a good while before I started editing with any pace, making my first edit to the article Haruhi Fujioka on 30 July 2021. From 2020 I began making edits very frequently on Fandom wikis (which I have now abandoned due to their bad business practices), creating the 1600 page Aunty Donna Wiki. I am also interested in board games, and seeing the need for more articles on that topic, I began to edit more. On August 29, 2022, I wrote my first article about Oath: Chronicles of Empire and Exile, my all-time favourite board game. I published my tenth article, Norwich Pride, on 15 June 2023, and my first good article was Greenpeace Lyng GM maize action which reached that status on 27 March 2024. My fiftieth article was on British musician Master Peace. As of January 2025, the biggest article I've created is about the 2024 look-alike contests.

My niches

Over my time here, I've developed strange obsessions with the topics of the articles I edit. I like the silly stuff; viral phenomena and internet memes, Australian comedy despite not being Australian, and board games all tickle my fancy. I sometimes edit articles on music I love, and in a more serious approach I like to expand Wikipedia's wealth of information on Norfolk heritage as well as LGBT history and the less public-facing side of British politics.

Doctor Who is a love of mine, and while WikiProject Doctor Who do a great job at keeping things up to date I was able to publish an article on Doctor Who: Unleashed. The show has been a part of me since I was a kid, and it's honestly where I've acquired a lot of my personal value system. I'm in the process of watching the entirety of the classic era of the show, missing episodes and all; currently, I'm on season 7. Additionally, I've recently got into editing TARDIS Wiki.

I love board games, and even decided to write my undergraduate dissertation on the controversial Ungame, adding to its article in the process. Leder Games is by far my favourite publisher and thus I've written a number of articles about their games. Aside from that, I'd say the most interesting (and sadly overlooked) article I've written on board games has been Our Guys in Salisbury, a highly controversial Russian board game about the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal.

One partially silly obsession I've gained here has been lecterns, to the point that I seem to be the main lectern person at the moment on the site. I've never come across another type of furniture for which every notable instance has an interesting and storied history with so many twists and turns. It surprises me how little people have edited on this topic; I had to add the articles on both the 10 Downing Street lecterns and the presidential lecterns of the United States! Every single one I've come across has had something strange, funny or telling about society happen to it. I think it might be because they are close to people who have power, like politicians or religious leaders. They can also be expensive, which makes them easy to get caught up in crime. I've been occasionally investigating how many of these lecterns there have been over the years, and it's become a pretty massive task at this point as there are so many of them.

Writing about viral internet fads and other weird stuff in pop culture is also my thing. As of December 2024, three of the articles I've created appear on Wikipedia's unusual articles list. This generally started with my creation of the cop slide article in December 2023, and continued with some involvement in the Chicago rat hole and Willy's Chocolate Experience articles in 2024. While I didn't add too much to these articles as I got to the party a little too late, I followed up on the latter by creating an article on the similar Detroit Bridgerton Themed Ball. I'm proudest of my Cornell University pumpkin prank article which I think tells a pretty funny story from start to finish.
