The film is written and directed by Eva Victor and produced by Adele Romanski, Mark Ceryak and Barry Jenkins. Victor is also in the lead cast that includes Naomi Ackie, Lucas Hedges, John Carroll Lynch, Louis Cancelmi and Kelly McCormack.[3]

Principal photography took place in Ipswich, Massachusetts in March 2024.[4]

The film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on January 27, 2025.[5] In early February, A24 acquired the distribution rights for $8 million after a bidding war with Neon and Mubi.[6][7]

Reception

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 100% of 17 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 9.0/10 -- indicating a "Fresh" consensus.[8]

Eva Victor won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the Sundance Film Festival.[9]
